💧 How Much Water Do You Really Need Every Day?
We often hear, “Drink 8 glasses of water a day!” But hydration isn’t a one-size-fits-all rule. Your ideal water intake depends on your body size, activity level, weather, diet and overall health.
For many adults, around 2–3 litres of total fluids per day can be a useful general range, but individual needs can vary. In hot and humid weather, during exercise, or when you’re sweating more than usual, your requirements may increase.
💧 Signs you may need more fluids:
• Dark yellow urine
• Dry mouth or lips
• Headache
• Fatigue or low energy
• Dizziness
• Feeling unusually thirsty
💡 Common Hydration Myths — Busted!
❌ “Everyone needs exactly 8 glasses.”
There is no universal number that works for everyone.
❌ “Only plain water counts.”
Water-rich foods such as cucumber, watermelon, oranges, soups and vegetables also contribute to hydration.
❌ “More water means faster weight loss.”
Water supports normal digestion and overall health, but simply drinking excessive amounts won’t magically burn fat.
🌿 Simple Ways to Stay Hydrated
✔️ Keep a water bottle nearby.
✔️ Sip regularly instead of waiting until you’re very thirsty.
✔️ Include water-rich fruits and vegetables in your meals.
✔️ Increase fluids during workouts and hot weather.
✔️ Make hydration a daily habit, not a last-minute task.
Listen to your body, stay consistent and hydrate wisely. 💚
